Rowan Kelley & Luminous Minds

Hi, I’m Rowan. Many of the people who reach out to me are thoughtful, capable adults who have been carrying stress, anxiety, trauma, or major life transitions for a long time — often handling more on their own than anyone realizes. I provide individual therapy for adults in Buchanan, Michigan, serving clients throughout Southwest Michigan, with telehealth available across Michigan and Indiana.

My role as a therapist is to walk beside you with compassion, curiosity, and practical tools for real life. Clients often tell me they feel truly heard and understood in our sessions — and that the skills they learn help them navigate challenges outside the therapy room.

Who I Help

I work with adults who are navigating:

● The lasting impact of trauma, stress, or loss
● Anxiety, worry, or chronic stress that feels difficult to manage
● Feelings of depression, self-doubt, or disconnection
● Major life transitions, identity questions, and periods of feeling stuck or uncertain about the future

The people I work with often tell me they’ve already carried a lot on their own — finding ways to push through, adapt, or figure things out even in hard circumstances. By the time they reach out, they’re ready for the relief of a space where they don’t have to carry everything alone, and where real change feels possible.

My Approach

Therapy with me is warm, direct, and collaborative. I see our sessions as both a confidential space and a kind of laboratory where you can explore challenges, experiment with new skills, and build confidence to take what works into the real world. My work blends insight with practical change — helping you understand why patterns developed while also building skills that help you move forward.

I draw from several evidence-based approaches, including:

• Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

• Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR)

• Motivational Interviewing (MI)

• Mindfulness & grounding practices

• Psychoeducation and skill-building

Clients often describe therapy with me as both supportive and empowering: you’ll feel accepted where you are, while also gently challenged to grow.

Why I Do This Work

For me, therapy is about more than skills or strategies — it’s about honoring the human capacity to grow and transform, even in the face of difficulty.

What drew me to this work was a deep curiosity about people’s inner lives, combined with my own meaningful experiences of being supported and challenged in ways that sparked growth. Over time, I realized that what fulfills me most is walking alongside others and witnessing them reclaim clarity, strength, and direction in their lives.

Every client’s story feels like a chance to witness something extraordinary: the moment they recognize they can move forward, that their story is still unfolding, and that they have the power to shape it. That’s why I do this work — to create the conditions for those moments of light to emerge.
